Types of irrigation pipe and tubing:
- All mainline and sub mainlines for Drip Irrigation Systems.
- Polyethylene Tubing (PE) is perfect when using a garden hose.
- Suction Hose used from the pond to the pump.
- Layflat Hose is a key element for larger growers’ irrigation system.
- Oval Hose used to run from the water source to the field.
- Spaghetti Tubing used to connect drip tape to a mainline w/o fittings
- Flexible PVC lightweight works as a sub-mainline.
- Ironsides are used when higher pressure is a concern.
When to use these irrigation hoses:
Submain and Main Distribution Lines are used to create a network of main and branch lines to distribute the water to the plants or beds you wish to irrigate.
PE Tubing is an FDA-approved tubing option that is used for a wide range of fluid transfer applications. It is ideal for applications that require resistance to leakage and contamination, and it is soft and pliable which makes it easy to work with and roll out.
Suction Hose is typically used at a pond or river along with an Irrigation Pump.
Layflat Hose The extreme flexibility of Layflat for higher pressure makes it a perfect Mainline hose from the water source to the field. Made with UV inhibitors to reduce aging and for easy storage the Layflat coils flat.
Ironside Hose: Same features as Layflat but handles even more pressure.
Ironsides resists kinking & twisting.
Flatube / Oval Hose is a low-pressure tube (max 21 PSI) which makes it ideal for submains. We recommend it over Layflat when punching in Tape Connectors.
Spaghetti Tubing aka Spaghetti Hook-Up Hose hooks up Drip Tape or Layflat to mainline without a fitting. With the great flexibility this hose reaches across uneven rows.
Flexnet™ (Flexible PVC) is the industry’s only leak-proof flexible pipe, used as a sub-main hose that requires no punching. It is flexible and light weight for maximum portability and quicker movement from field to field.
