Filters and Pumps
Filters and pumps are essential components of irrigation systems, playing critical roles in maintaining water quality, protecting system components, and ensuring efficient water delivery to crops.
At Berry Hill, we have a variety of filters in stock including:
Disc Filters
Disc filters are mechanical filters that will remove particles, debris, and sediments from the water by passing it through a series of stacked discs with grooves or ridges. As water flows through the discs, larger particles are trapped on the surface or between the discs, while clean water passes through to the outlet.
Disc filters are available in various configurations, including single-disc, multi-disc, and stacked-disc designs.
Screen Filters
Screen filters, also known as mesh filters or inline filters, use a fine mesh screen to capture particles, algae, and organic matter from the water as it passes through. The screen acts as a barrier, allowing clean water to pass through while retaining solids.
Screen filters are available in various mesh sizes, ranging from coarse to fine, to accommodate different water sources and filtration requirements.
Media Filters
Media filters utilize a bed of granular media, such as sand and gravel to filter out suspended solids, organic matter, and microorganisms from the water. As water passes through the media bed, particles are trapped and retained so clean water exits through the outlet.
Media filters come in fiberglass or stainless steel. They consist of multiple layers of media with varying particle sizes. They can be operated in single or multiple stages, depending on the desired filtration efficiency and water quality goals.
Pumps
In addition to filters, pumps are integral components of irrigation systems! Add electricity to your pump station and you will automate the drip system! Gas pumps are convenient and inexpensive for other areas.
They will provide the necessary pressure to deliver water from the source to the distribution network. The selection of a pump depends on factors such as flow rate, head pressure, energy efficiency, and system design requirements.
