Flat, grooved plastic discs (rings) are stacked together in a cylindrical filter element. These filters work well as stand-alone units and are available in several sizes to fit specific flow ranges and 120 or 140 mesh filtrations.
This provides greater holding capacity as filtration is performed through the entire ring depth and not just the surface. Â During filtration, the rings are compressed together effectively filtering the water and protecting the system from clogging.
These are best for relatively clean water. Not recommended for ponds or rivers!
